LUT University will continue to address global issues with its new five-year strategy. LUT’s board approved the new System Earth 2030 strategy at its meeting on 3 June. As a result, LUT’s impact will focus on the following strategic areas:

  • Planetary resources: regenerative use of natural resources
  • Energy transition: clean energy solutions for industry and society
  • Digital revolution: utilising data and digital technology to benefit society
  • Business and society: building resilient businesses, industry, and communities

LUT’s System Earth 2030 strategy refers to our planet as a complex system of connected parts, each playing a vital role in maintaining balance between humankind and the environment. The strategy also emphasises a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to research and education.

“With our new strategy, we are aiming for an even greater impact. However, the foundation is the same as before: we help build resilient communities, industry, and businesses with our expertise in technology, business, and social sciences,” says Janne Hokkanen, strategy director at LUT University.

LUT’s values – the courage to succeed, passion for innovation through science, and a will to build well-being – will remain the same.
